The city of Grubišno polje is located in the south-eastern part of Bilogora at 163 m above sea level between the rivers Ilova and Česma, about 40 km from Bjelovar and about 150 km from Zagreb. Today it has some 7,000 inhabitants. It was mentioned for the first time in documents in the second half of the 15th century as the property of the Dukes of Ilok and in 1501 as a parish, while the parish church of St. Joseph was constructed in 1781. |
